Michael Stanton Song Ceremony

Hello everyone Blessings of this Samhain dark moon to you all. After a beautiful song ceremony in Bristol a few weeks ago I am holding a special song ceremony in Glastonbury on Nov 8th.

We will gather once again round a simple altar to offer songs and prayers to the spirit and our beautiful living earth, especially at this time of Samhain, the beginning of the Celtic new year. Guided by my own songs and songs I carry from being in ceremonies over the years, we will be together in low light held in the sacred embrace of community. Many of the songs I sing are in Portuguese and Spanish, but some are also in English and others without words at all, so we can just open our voices and be in the magic of sound.

I look forward to reconnecting with the beautiful people of Glastonbury including many old friends to sing and lift up a prayer together in the incredible new space of Sambogaya. I hope our musical sharing will be filled with beauty and I invite you to bring your songs, your voices and your musical instruments! Of course there is no pressure to sing. You can simply come and receive the songs and prayers in silence and relax into the timeless elemental holding of the ceremony.

The next day I will hold a Medicine Songs Learning Circle. This is an opportunity to dive deeper into the songs that are dear to my heart.  Songs I have written and songs I have gathered on my travels.  I will print the lyrics to a number of these precious songs along with English translations and we will sing these songs together.  We will also look at their meanings including who wrote them and where they come from, as well as how to honour the songs and carry them in a good way.  I will likely choose songs that were shared in the Song Ceremony the night before.
